Safe Haven - Nicholas Sparks

I am wrapping my 2012 book challenge with an awesome one. I know it’s another tearjerker, heart wrenching one. What else can we expect from Nicholas Sparks, he’d done it a million times and still never fails.

This is a story about Katie, who found a new home in a small town where she knew no one. Bounded by her awful past, she made friends and live a new life. In that town she met Alex, a widowed store owner who was raising his two kids alone. Katie found a friend in the identity of Jo, a neighbor whom Katie found as mysterious as her. In the darkest moments of her life, she unexpectedly falls for Ales.  Just when she was getting comfortable in her new life, the ghosts in her past came flashing back. And everything was bound to be slipping away. Again.

The Best Of Me- Nicholas Sparks

“Everyone wanted to believe that endless love was possible. She’d believe in it once, too, back when she was eighteen.”

You can never go wrong with Nicholas Sparks when it comes to romance novels. This books is about Dawson Cole and Amanda Collier who fell in love when they were young but circumstances and fate tear them apart. The book is all about finding your happiness. People do make decisions that they think will make them happy but sometimes all it takes is one person or even one day to change it all. It talks about meeting your first and only true love that even if meet someone you new you will still hold on to that first one.

P.S. I’m almost finish with my book challenge! yay!

Another reason to be thankful for Booksale!

This book is a memoir of how David Sheff (the author) together with his family, struggled with his son’s addiction. It was very personal and I respect the author for even writing a book about his son’s condition. It was definitely a tough time for a father like him who had to go through a lot for his son. Nic(son) attends various rehabs and program but can’t seem to quite overcome his addiction to crystal meth and alcohol. But one turning point changed their lives, and fortunately enough, his son is slowly but surely on his way to sobriety.

It would change lives for sure. I think parents or even young adults should try to read this before even trying to used prohibited drugs.

Another book I read thru PDF files. Don’t judge me please! :|

The book is as good as The Fault in Our Stars. The characters were high school-ers and were set in modern times. The main character Miles Halter aka Pudge wanted to experience a normal highschool life. He then met his new friends in a boarding school in Alabama. They did stuffs that normal high school students do. Did some pranks, loiter a lot, smoke, drank alcohol, explore the world of sex and so much more. If you’re wondering who or what Alaska is, I guess you need to read this book. It has an awesome twist in the end.

Again, this is on my list. I need the actual book :))

I have been quite busy the past few months I barely had time to go out and buy books. Plus the fact that I am spending too much for my school stuffs.

Okay, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I have read this thru PDF files only. Boo :(  Nevertheless, it was a good read. My favorite book to date. It talks about life, love and time. Got a lot of lessons. I am planning to buy the real book once the semester is over. It was all worth it. Falling in love with John Green’s works.

Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky

Definitely one of the best books I have read this year. Okay, I am giving this book 4 out of 5 because I think there are elements missing and I can’t point out what it is. Nevertheless, I find this book very inspirational and emotional as well. The characters were defined well and they have very diverse personalities as individuals. I can totally relate to Charlie’s experiences in school were no one really notices him and how that one old friend would treat you as a stranger just because he/she met new ones and make him/her more popular than you. I love how Charlie’s character was very dynamic and spontaneous that there were parts that I didn’t see it coming.

This book is deceiving. Basing on the title you will expect something more clear and something more of a literary value. It somewhat disappoints me but I actually like how the love story was formed and how it surpasses all the problems. This book mainly tackles differences, beliefs, youth, distances, friendship, love, and a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll music.

By the way, I have an account in goodreads.com so for those who are into books like me, http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/9306569-badetskii you know what to do =) Thanks!

  • Just got home from FEU. Okay, I missed my school :)
  • I just love the ambiance every time I am in FEU. It’s very peaceful and cheerful. It always lightens up my mood.
  • Ate lunch at Lerma, then went to Moonleaf. Gaaaahhhddd, Peppermint Milk Tea forever and always =))
  • It was so frickin’ hot today. Good thing I opted to wear just a plain white shirt =))
  • But the real purpose of my visit was for white uniform. I am quite excited about wearing it,  so as early as now I already had it made.
